It’s easy enough and cheap enough to replace; however, if it were case hardened it would last a lot longer.

The only difference between these and the retracts for the main gear is that these come with the stud that the strut mounts to. The problem is that this stud has a ****** on it to stop it from falling out since it is designed to rotate as a nose gear. The only way to remove it and replace it with the main gear stud is to split the gear in half. It can be done, but it is tedious. They are interchangeable except for what I described above.

The mounting ****** on this servo is weak and susceptible to fracture as mentioned in other reviews. The FlightLine retract reinforcement plates will help alleviate that issue. Would be nice if the Motion RC site would point buyers to this added accessory when purchasing this servo because if you don’t exactly know what the reinforcement plates are called, they are difficult to find on the Motion RC site or anywhere else.
